Dear in Christ,
On June 3, 2024, His Holiness Baselios Marthoma Mathews III visited Malankara House, Palmerstown (The site for new construction and parish house of St. Thomas Indian Orthodox Church, Dublin), marking a historic moment for the Indian Orthodox Church community in Ireland. The parishioners gathered in large numbers, filled with excitement and reverence, to greet their esteemed spiritual leader.
During the visit, His Holiness blessed the foundation stone and presided over the groundbreaking ceremony for the first church building dedicated to the Indian Orthodox Church community in Ireland. The ceremony was blessed with the presence of H.G Abraham Mar Stephanos (Our Diocesan Metropolitan), Fr. Varghese Mathew (The Diocesan Secretary) and several priests of parishes in Ireland. This significant event symbolized a new chapter in the community’s spiritual journey, providing a dedicated place of worship and community gathering for the faithful.
The ceremony was instilled with a sense of hope and unity, as hymns and prayers filled the air, and the faithful joined together in celebration. His Holiness’s presence and blessing imparted a deep sense of encouragement and spiritual strength to the congregation. This milestone not only highlighted the growth and establishment of the Indian Orthodox Church in Ireland but also reinforced the community’s cultural and spiritual heritage in their new homeland
